TIPPS FOR YOUR VISIT

Feel free to be dressed with comfortable clothes and sport shoes in order to play. Sun cream can be vital during summer and do not forget your water before you get started ! On course refreshments can also be available for your comfort. If you want to play with a golf cart (due to our small availability) make sure to book a starting time in advance. Otherwise starting time is not needed.

Please not that only if you are a golfer or if you had recently the Green Card (Platzreife) you can play on our course. For those with no experience we do have a special training program through which you can get your license and why not play your first round on a golf course!

COURSE DESCRIPTION

An 18-hole (par 73) golf course (the only one in Rhodos) on an amazing location along the Afandou Beach, designed by world famous golf course architect, Donald Harradine, ﬁrst operated in 1973. In order to match modern playing conditions and distances, the course will be renovated and redesigned by the one and only Jack Nicklaus in the next 2-3 years. Despite the dry course conditions... playing the course as it is today can be very challenging !

Since this 2024, Georgios is the General Manager of the Afandou Golf Course. Through his Academy GGA as a Head Professional, he serves the visitors and members of the club with best quality services !

3 reasons to train with Georgios in rhodos

Georgios started playing golf in Rhodos in 1984 and in a short time within 15 months he was single Hcp and a member of the Greek National teams. His professional career started in 1996 in Porto Carras Golf & Country Club. He qualified through the PGA GB&I and since 2005 he holds the qualification of an Advanced PGA Professional. He was a member of the EPD Tour and had 2 participations 1996 & 2000 at the Q-School for the European Tour (Stage 1)

In Afandou he had the biggest Junior Academy in Greece, in the years between 2002 and 2012 with more than 80 juniors and 2 Assistant Professionals! Most of those kids were members of the national teams and some of them are Golf Professionals today ! His Professional career went through Germany in the area of Hessen: 2012-2022 Praforst Golfclub (Huenfeld, close to Fulda), 2023 Oberaula Golfclub (Bad Hersfeld) & Sickendorf Golfclub (Lauterbach).

He has a clear and simple philosophy about golf and the golf swing.
